TATAOUINE, April 8, 2011 (TAP) – About one hundred Libyan families arrived these last days in the city of Dhiba, in the southern governorate of Tataouine, coming from Nalout, Yafran and Zentane, in Libya’s Jebel Gharbi region.

These families, mostly women and children, had to take Saharan routes to skirt round the main entrance of Dhiba whose access is closed from the Libyan side.

Police and military sources told TAP news agency regional correspondent that these families had been provided with accommodation, food and medicines, but some of them preferred to carry on their trip to inland areas and stay with Tunisian families, while others have been transferred Friday morning to a refugee camp in Ben Guerdane.

According to some Libyan families whose houses were destroyed in Jebel Gharbi, the flow of Libyan refugees from this region is expected to increase after the deterioration of security situation.
