The High Authority for the Achievement of the Revolution Objectives [HAARO] adopted, yesterday, during a plenary session in Bardo, the new decree-law concerning the financing and organisation of political parties; 82 members of the council  voted yes, 4 abstained from voting and the no’s only cast one single voice.

However, at the end of the plenary session, the PDP left the meeting claiming that there were  ”a manipulation of voices” and “irregularities in the amendments newly introduced to the decree-law project”.

In fact, there seemed to be a misunderstanding between the HAARO leader, Yadh Ben Achour, and the PDP members, affrims Issam Echebbi, because after an unanimous vote for the adoption of the proposition made orally concerning the organisation and financing of the political parties by body corporate, Yadh Ben Achour, turned his back on the voting, and alerted the attendees that members of the authority have to cast their votes again.

Upon this misunderstanding, Maya Jribi, Secretary General of the PDP, confirmed that her party will withdraw its members from the HAARO until “the high authority expresses full commitment to its decisions.

The session also aimed to make up the list of the formerly known as  pro Ben Ali and those who called fhim to run for the 2014 election, known in Arabic as “Al Mounechidoun” [the supporters]. This list contains 2836 preliminary names so far.
