Known as being one of the officers who took part in the putch of September 1st 1969 and a close confidant of Col. Moammar Gadhafi, Commander Khouildi Hamidi was arrested in the Tunis-Carthage International Airport with members of his family on September 7th, 2011.

Hamidi is married to a Tunisian woman, and he personally took part during the 70′s and 80′s in the resolution of several conflicts between Tunisia and Libya, which could have lead lead, according to experts, to armed conflict.
