Hachimi Hamidi, leader of the Aridha Chaabia (Popular Petition) party is returning to Tunisia this Saturday, says a party spokesperson.

According to Hatem Kalaii, spokespersons of an Aridha Chaabia list, Hachimi Hamidi will be in the Tunis-Carthage Airport on Saturday around midday. Hatem also said that Hachimi Hamidi himself revealed that news on his TV Channel, “Mostakella.”

Hamidi surprised Tunisians once when his list Aridha Chaabia gained third place in the Constituent Assembly, beating more well-known political parties like the Progressive Democratic Party (PDP), a center-left group with a national and international campaign. His decision to return to Tunisia is a second surprise, as he previously mentioned that he will not come back to Tunisia as long as Ennahda and Hamadi Jebali are leading the government, a statement that he apologized for later.

Hachimi Hamidi has lived in London since the 1990s.

Supporters of Hachmi Hamdi known (#HH) on twitter are expected to be present in the airport in huge numbers to welcome him.
