Prime Minister Hamadi Jebali is scheduled to meet with President Moncef Marzouki during the evening of Tuesday, December 20th at 7pm to present the composition of his new government according to officials from the Prime Minister’s office.

After discussing the proposed cabinet with President Marzouki, the final list of Ministers will be presented and voted on in a vote of confidence by the Constituent Assembly either on Wednesday or Thursday.

While recent leaks have already claimed that there will be a list of 50 names of coalition members who may potentially serve in the upcoming cabinet, it has been reported that the government will encompass 48 members, 26 ministers, 6 junior ministers under the Prime Minister and 16 Deputy Ministers.

Both the leader of Ettakatol who is also the Speaker of the Constituent Assembly, Mustapha Ben Jafaar and Prime Minister Hamadi Jebali expressed disappointment that the composition of the new government was leaked before the official announcement.

Samir Hanachi, an assistant to Prime Minister Hamadi Jebali expressed that information so far leaked about the composition of the new government was premature. “The proposed new government won’t be communicated to the press immediately. It does not make sense that the press knows about the composition of the government  before the Members of the Constituent Assembly.”
