The Tunisian automotive industry is experiencing a massive resurgence, according to a report from African Manager. At a UTICA meeting on Wednesday, plans were made for the creation of fifty thousand jobs in the automotive sector during the next three years, writes African Manager.

According to the article, investment from foreign car dealers like Peugeot and Toyota in the Mediterranean region, are the reason such a large increase in the automative job sector will be possible.

With the Tunisian unemployment rate hovering around 18.1%, this is welcome economic news for Tunisia.

After the revolution, Tunisia has become a haven for increased investment, and many business ventures are finding Tunisia increasingly attractive hub for investment. Most recently German consortium Desertec Industrial Initiative (Dii) which wants to make Tunisia a leading regional supplier of alternative energy.
