Yesterday, education and innovation were the words on everyone’s lips when the creation of a new Graduate School of Applied Sciences and Private Management (SESAME) was announced.

SESAME will be distinct from most universities in several respects, but the most important is that its courses will be tailored by investors from the fields of management and Information Communication Technology (ICT). The degrees issued by SESAME will aim to provide graduates with practical, high-demand skills in the workplace.

In order to implement this strategy, SESAME will offer training in ICT that will include preparatory engineering studies, engineering, and applied licensing.

“In a world where ICT is quickly changing, it is important that our students acquire the soft skills to communicate well, be integrated into multidisciplinary teams, and work independently,” stated Farouk Kamoun the president of SESAME. He also stressed that SESAME will provide classes and training for experienced managers as well as students.

Sonia Mahjoub, the managing director of FOCUS, and Imed Ammar, director general of CYNAPSIS – two major shareholders in SESAME – confirmed their willingness to develop a strong relationship with the institution and hire large numbers of its new graduates due to its highly specialized nature.

Ammar asserted that the training model of SESAME reflects exactly what they desire in terms of skills and capabilities, which is why they chose to help direct and invest in the project. “We are going to recruit at least top 20 engineers annually. To this end, we made sure that the content of the offered courses [at SESAME] will provide all the training we require,” he explained.

SESAME tuition fees will range from 4200 and 5000 dinars per year, depending on the degree.
