Tunisia’s Men’s Volleyball team lost to the US yesterday, August 7, 3-0, ending their participation in this year’s Olympic Games in London.

Though they fought valiantly, the Tunisian team was unable to win a single set against the Americans. Despite not winning any sets, the Tunisian team managed to keep the score close, scoring 19 points in each of the final two. Ultimately, though, the superior play of American players like Mackenzie and Anderson, with 14 and 9 spikes each, respectively, that won the match over sub-par numbers from the Tunisian team.

The Tunisian team had a disappointing run in London this year, failing score a victory in any of their five matches against the US, Brazil, Russia, Germany, and Serbia. The only glimmer of hope for the North African team came when they won a set in their match against Serbia.

The US team will go on to face the Italian team on August 8 in the first round of the finals.
