The Harvard Arab Alumni Association will host its eighth annual Arab World Conference this Thursday at La Résidence Hotel in Tunis.

The conference will explore the theme, “The Arab World: From Revolution to Transformation.”

The event will include five different panels: People & Pluralism: The (Im) Possibility of Politics after the Revolution; The Rule of Law and Legal Transformation; The New Arab Political Economy: Economics and Business Transformation; Transforming Arab Education; and Media & Transformation.

Fares Mabrouk, Co-Founder and Director of the Arab Policy Institute, and Ahmed El-Gaili, partner at the Middle East Offices of the law firm Vinson & Elkins LLP, will be co-chairing the event.

Mustapha Ben Jafar, President, Tunisian Constituent Assembly

Dr. Jorge I. Dominguez, Vice Provost, International Affairs, Harvard University

Dr. Mo Ibrahim, Sudanese Businessman; Chair, Mo Ibrahim Foundation

Suheir Atassi, Co-Vice President, Syrian National Coalition

Hazem Beblawi, Former Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister, Egypt

Hynd Bouhia, Economic Advisor, Prime Minister, Morocco; Former President, Moroccan Stock Exchange

Aziz Mebarek, Founding Partner, TunInvest

Maryam al-Khawaja, Acting Director, Bahrain Center for Human Rights

Laila Atshan, Mason Fellow and Alumnus, Harvard Kennedy School; Renowned Palestinian Psychologist

The conference will be held for Harvard alumni and non-Harvard affiliates. At 6 p.m., a special seminar for Tunisian high school students and graduates will be held to explain the Harvard admissions process.
