Hotel Le Grand Bleu – Djerba

The Hotel Grand Bleu’s three star rating certainly is accurate, and the rate for a double room – 32 dinars per person per night, breakfast included – is appropriate, as well.  As soon as you enter the reception area, you will be greeted by the staff’s friendliness, and their responsiveness will continue throughout your stay.

The hotel includes a restaurant, a bar, and a pool, in addition to its basic amenities.  It is possible to eat your complimentary breakfast — which consists of juice, pound cake, coffee, cacao, hard-boiled eggs, bread, and jam – in the outdoor area of the restaurant, which overlooks the ocean, as an added bonus.

The rooms themselves are clean and well-cared for.  The doubles are spacious and comfortable, and they include a private bathroom, two queen-sized beds, a desk and chair, and a TV.  At the time of our visit, all of the facilities were fully-functional, and the air conditioning unit worked well.

Our only complaint was the lack of wireless Internet on the second floor of the hotel, despite the advertisement that all of Le Grand Bleu had Internet access.  When we spoke with the attendants in the reception area, they informed us that they have had a connection problem on the second floor (the floor on which the rooms are located), and that it will not be fixed within the next month.  For the time being, the only area able to access the Internet is in the reception area.

Still, for its price, service, and its central location along the corniche and between Houmet-Souk and the touristic zones, Hotel Le Grand Bleu is unquestionably an affordable, comfortable, and convenient option. We are able to therefore, recommend Le Grand Bleu.
