Hotel Mabrouk – Tataouine

Hotel Mabouk is rated a two-star hotel in the region of Tataouine, situated only three kilomters from the city center. Hotel Mabrouk is located in a channel of mountains. Once the hotel’s enormous gates are open you are welcomed in a very spacious reception area. Hotel Mabrouk is designed to give an impression of ancient Sahara life. The decor fits the Saharan environment of the city of Tataouine. The hotel is divided into several sections each taking the name of one of touristic districts of Tataouine.

The Hotel provides 42 rooms divided into doubles and triples all with bathrooms, air-conditioning, land-line phones and satellite TV. The rooms are comfortable, spacious and cheerfully designed.

There are two restaurants in Hotel Mabrouk: one “à la carte” and the other is for package tours making a stop at the Mabrouk with 500 seats for maximum capacity. For 35 Dinars per person per night, the hotel up to the expected standards. Its provide you with a very clean room that is well organized with a complete breakfast made up of coffee, milk, jam, bread, butter, hard boiled eggs, croissant, cake, and juice.

The best part of the hotel is the wide garden that you face whenever you are going to your room.

For a two stars hotel the service in the hotel is respectable. The only inconvenience found is that there was no hot water in the shower and there was no warning beforehand. The staff insisted that this was a temporary problem and that steps were being taken to fix the hotel’s water heater.

The hotel provides internet but only in the reception area.

The location is very strategic place as it is only 15km away from touristic sites like Chenini and other destinations within the deep south of Tunisia.

Tunisia Live recommends the Hotel Mabrouk – but for short stays only. People staying more than a few nights might be better off finding somewhere else to have an extended visit to the Tataouine area.
