Mohamed Ben Salem

Mohamed Ben Salem was born February 19, 1953. He is currently an engineer and a member of the executive office of Ennahda.

Ben Salem occupied a number of different positions in Ennahda. He was member of the Shura Council in 1989, deputy head of the party in 1990, and head of the party in 1991.

In 1987, he spent nine months in prison, and two and a half months between the years 1990 and 1991. Ben Salem subsequently fled the country to France where he spent the next 20 years.

While in France, Ben Salem was a member of  the Tunisian Solidarity Association in Paris, France.

Ben Salem is the minister of agriculture.
